Acuity Auto Insurance |
Auto insurance is an agreement between you and the auto insurance company. It protects you financially in the event of an accident or theft. In this article, get to know exactly how car insurance works.
Car insurance often seems confusing, but a little education can quickly clear up any confusion you may have about this important type of coverage.
Knowing exactly how car insurance works can make you more confident about buying the right policy and getting the most out of that coverage when you need it.
It protects your finances in the event of a car accident, which could save you tens of thousands of dollars or more.
One type of coverage reimburses you for damage you cause to other people, their vehicle, or other property. Almost all states require you to carry this type of coverage, known as liability insurance.
A second type of coverage reimburses you for damage to yourself and your own vehicle. Typically, this type of coverage — like collision and comprehensive coverage — is optional, although if you have a car loan, the lender might require you to purchase the insurance.

How Much Does Acuity Cost?
Car insurance premiums are determined by a range of factors, including the type of car you drive, your driving history, where you live, your credit score, and even your age and gender.
It is therefore difficult to predict how much a given driver will pay for his policy.
But let’s take a look at an example of an Acuity auto policy for a 30-year-old single woman in Minnesota with a car: a 2016 Chevrolet Impala.
This driver was offered a premium of $227.50 per month, or $2,730 for the year, for a comprehensive coverage policy that also included new car replacement and Acuity’s personal auto improvement coverage.
Like its competitors, Acuity offers its customers a range of discounts to help them save on car insurance.
These include good student discounts, graduate student discounts, discounts for taking an accident prevention course, and discounts for insuring multiple cars on the same policy.
Unlike other carriers, however, Acuity does not make it easy to view all available discounts on their website or in the quote process, so new customers should try speaking with an agent to ensure that they get all applicable discounts.
